We are thrilled to share some exciting news with our soccer fans in Winston-Salem. Salem City FC, a new USL-2 club, will join the fourth tier of professional soccer in the United States starting from May 2024. The USL-2 Season will run from May through the beginning of August.  Our goal to climb up the ranks to the next tier of professional soccer as soon as possible and provide a year-round soccer experience for our community. We hope you will join us in supporting our team and celebrating this historic milestone for our city.

Our club has a rich history and tradition that dates back to the Carolina Dynamo, one of the most successful teams in the USL League Two. The Carolina Dynamo was founded in 1993 and won four national championships, six conference titles and nine division titles. In 2018, the Carolina Dynamo merged with NC Fusion, a new merger between Greensboro Soccer Club and the Twin City Soccer Association, to form a comprehensive soccer organization that serves players of all ages and levels. NC Fusion continued the legacy of the Carolina Dynamo by competing in the USL League Two and developing top talent for the professional ranks. NC Fusion continued the winning legacy with 4 conference titles, 4 division titles and one national final appearance.

In 2023, a private group has taken the reins and rebranding its USL League Two team as Salem City FC, a name that reflects the club’s connection to Winston-Salem, the city of arts and innovation. Salem City FC aims to be a positive force in the community, promoting soccer as a vehicle for social change and youth development. We are excited to kick off our inaugural season in 2024 and invite you to join us in supporting our team. Salem City FC is more than just a soccer club, it is a family that honors the past, embraces the present and shapes the future.
