Salem City FC is committed to fostering local talent and creating a culture of excellence, and establishing a Free-To-Play Academy is a major step toward that goal. As the new season approaches, the club looks forward to welcoming dedicated young players who are ready to take their game to the next level—without the burden of financial strain.
For many aspiring soccer players, cost can be a significant hurdle in pursuing high-level training and competition. Operating under The Salem City Foundation, we have worked to eliminate league fees for the Academy, making the sport more accessible, allowing talented athletes to focus on their growth and performance rather than financial concerns.
The goal of the USL Academy is to create optimal player development environments and provide local youth prospects the best chance of reaching the professional level.
The USL Academy establishes a high-level pre-professional training environment, with a direct connection to the local USL senior team. It provides meaningful games to aid in those players’ development and to provide all clubs an opportunity to compete amongst each other in regionalized competition.
USL Academy displays strong competition and growth for academy teams across the country through competitive play and development attributions. The Academy season runs concurrent with the SCFC USL2 season, over the summer, mirroring a professional environment in order to allow for young talents to train and play at the highest level.
